
Wendelin Lockett
(Mother Abbess) - Wendelin is glad to be back on the stage after enjoying
the last 19 months being 'momma' to her daughter Hannah.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Wendelin moved with her husband
Brian to
Wisconsin from San Diego, in 2002. Prior to that, she lived
and performed in Boston and New York City. While in Boston, she received
her Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from the New England
Conservatory of Music.
Wendelin has performed in numerous operas, operettas and musicals with
the Sarasota Opera Company, Central City Opera Company, Chautauqua Opera
Company, Brown Opera Company, Longwood Opera Company, the Moonlight
Amphitheater, Paper Mill Playhouse, and the North Shore Music Theater.
Some of her favorite roles include the Countess in The Marriage of
Figaro, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Jenny Lind in Barnum, Guilietta in
The Tales of Hoffmann, the First Lady in Die Zauberflote, and Lady
Thiang in The King & I.
Ms. Lockett's concert work includes performances as soloist with the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Chamber Chorale, Concordia
University in Irvine, the Fall River Symphony Orchestra, the Newton
Choral Society in Boston, the Wionna Concert Series, the Masterworks
Chorale in Boston, the Monadnock Musical Festival and a variety of
concerts and recitals throughout Wisconsin and Southern California. She
has also performed in a number of concerts with the New York Choral
Artists in concert with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Little
Orchestra Society-Orpheum Chorale, and the Handel & Haydn Society.
In August, she will be returning to New
York City to record a number of songs by composer/arranger David
Freidman. In her spare time, she enjoys playing softball and
teaches 40 voice and piano students. |
