Port Youth Theatre
Coming for 2014
Wizard of Oz
Young Performers' Edition
The Port Washington Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce registration for the 2014 Port Youth Theatre. The program is available to students in grades 1-8. Registration begins October 1, 2013 for “The Wizard of Oz, Young Performers’ Edition”, the third production by the group. This is a condensed version of the show we all know and love with all the familiar characters and songs.

“Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination.” TAMS-Witmark

Registration fees are $100.00 for residents of the Port Washington-Saukville School District and $110.00 for non-residents of the Port Washington-Saukville School District. Auditions for specific roles will be held from within the group of registered students after registration is closed. There is a limit of 30 students for this production.

The group will rehearse in the Port Washington High School auditorium and cafeteria twice a week and do two public performances of the show on May 9 (evening) and May 10 (matinee) in the Port Washington High School auditorium. Rehearsals begin March 12, 2014.

For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at 284-5881 or the director, Diana Neumeyer, at 284-0915.
